Can BOTOX® Cosmetic Be Used for a Nonsurgical “Brow Lift?”

As the tail or the corner of the eyebrow lifts, it creates a youthful appearance to your eyes. Injecting BOTOX® Cosmetic to neutralize the muscle which lowers the tail of the eyebrow also prevents the wrinkles we commonly call “crow’s feet.” At my San Antonio plastic surgery practice, I use BOTOX to perform nonsurgical brow lifts and to treat wrinkles to help you look more rested and youthful.

How Do You Perform a Nonsurgical Brow Lift?

If you wish to have the corners of your brows elevated, I can selectively neutralize the muscles that act as eyebrow depressors – providing the effect of an eyebrow lift.

Understanding the anatomy of the muscles of facial expression and the forces they apply helps me achieve a patient’s goal for a BOTOX treatment. I realize there are many options for getting BOTOX in San Antonio, so I recommend selecting a plastic surgeon like me who has the training and skills necessary to achieve natural looking results to help you look and feel your best.

How Does BOTOX Work?

BOTOX is the most common nonsurgical procedure performed by plastic surgeons today. BOTOX works by blocking the signal for muscle movement, therefore preventing wrinkles that form when we make facial expressions.

The FDA has approved BOTOX for use to treat dynamic wrinkles between the eyebrows, on the forehead, and around the eyes (crow’s feet). It is also used to treat many regions of the face and neck, including neck bands and around the mouth.

Why Is a Full Facial Evaluation of a BOTOX Candidate Important?

When patients come to my office to discuss facial aging, I always listen to their concerns and desires. Once I better understand the patient’s perspective, I can offer effective guidance for facial rejuvenation. I make sure to perform a full assessment of the face since facial movement, structure shape, and facial asymmetries all influence the desired outcome.

How Long Does a Nonsurgical Brow Lift Last?

The full effects of BOTOX may take up to a week after injection to appear and should last for about 3 months. I schedule my patients for BOTOX treatments approximately 3-4 times per year to have reliable, persistent results.

Traditional methods for a more youthful forehead and brow include surgically lifting, excising, or re-draping skin with a facelift or surgical brow lift. BOTOX, when performed responsibly, may be a less invasive, temporary, option which provides a similar appearance.
